Having implemented the general campaign structure, I felt it was time to stress test the radio cutscene pipeline. As this is a satire, the ML program needs to spit out lines with the correct intonation, or the effect is totally ruined. Thanks to a comment from “Chunk,” I’ve made a great deal of progress on this front. However, since I’m not quite ready to reveal the first prototype scene, but don’t want to go too long between articles, I’d like to distract you with this.
I wanted something to play in the background of the radio drama cutscenes. Asking an artist to hand animate something for me is out of the question, and I’m not bothering with the ML image creation garbage again. I figured a little shader effect would do nicely as a placeholder, while keeping me in practice. The glorified screensaver you see above is my take on a flow field effect, and while it will probably be replaced with something else, I do have a certain fondness for it.
The more interesting and important work will be finished soon.
