For multiple months now people have been requesting a way to fund me through this site. As I explained in my Movement Monday piece, I had multiple reasons to put that off. On top of those reasons, I’ve always wanted to give myself some sort of out, where I could quit politics and do something else. I felt like once I took peoples money, really any amount, I was locked in for good. But I’ve decided that we’re going all the way with this, so here we are.

This site has never been intended as a moneymaker, only to ultimately support a political party here in Canada, with a side benefit of supporting the NJP in America. That is this sites only real purpose, with entertaining you as a distant second. But there are costs to the site. Costs which HostPapa, my current hosting provider, keeps trying to increase.

Right now they’re whining about me using too much storage space and server time, but I don’t want to upgrade my plan only for them to then censor me for some bullshit “terms of service violations,” or have the Canadian government do the same for legal reasons. The domain purchase and hosting costs alone have put me somewhere around $300 in the red, and I don’t know what it’ll look like in the future.

Additionally, since this site really got started (including Hyphen Report work) in mid November, at a bare minimum of five hours per day of work, that comes out to about 150 days of work, and at least 750 hours. And needless to say, that is an underestimation if ever there was one. If we value my time at just $10 per hour, that should be around $7,500 Canadian.

I don’t expect people to pay me that, or even close. Covering the costs of the site would be very nice, and anything on top of that would also be nice. I do eventually expect to be paid for political work. Not a lot, but enough to keep going. My call ins to the RCMP are the very beginning of this work, and it will only get more involved from here.

A political party needs funding, because the world runs on money. Even ignoring the distribution of skills, if I could clone myself, I could be far more productive. I can’t spend all day doing calls, editing videos, keeping up on all relevant news, while also producing near 10,000 word long pieces on military industrial complex bullshit, now can I? Eventually I will need to hire people, and while I expect people to follow my lead and volunteer quite cheaply, a small amount of money goes a very long way. To say nothing of the social aspect of political action.

For now, this is but a tiny first step in setting up payment. Months ago I created a Coinbase account when receiving payment from Hyphen Report. I hadn’t opened it up for months after that, but I managed to remember my password and get back into my account. I am a total noob when it comes to crypto currency stuff, but I think that I just post my wallet, and people can send me Cardano, right?

Well here goes. If that’s not what we do, let me know immediately in the comment section.

NOTE: I really would not use that barcode thingy for anything. It’s probably compressed due to jpeg compression or what have you, and I can’t verify for its accuracy. Again, maybe this is all a lot of nonsense, but I’m just not sure exactly what I’m doing here.

I will be permanently posting these details somewhere on the front page of the site. A sidebar would be best, but I’ll need someone to actually do the technical work, since I don’t know how. Tomorrow I’ll put this on Poa.st, and possibly somewhere on telegram, assuming that people have correctly educated me by then.

This is apparently Monero though, so I don’t think it’s compatible. Still a funny image though.

Anyone who is more experienced with this kind of stuff, please chime in down below in the comments, as well as in the site’s telegram chat channel, and on Poast.

I’m not anticipating much. Some people have expressed interest here and there, and $20 bucks of Cardano from a few people is really all I am anticipating, which is fine. But this is a necessary step to getting more serious political organization, and, having done this, I can safely say I should have done this months ago.

  1. Not a complete newbie but no expert either. From my understanding coinbase isn’t a reliable service for dissidents. Highly recommended to move onto another wallet service. To help protect yourself and people donating to you. There is a service called Bit Pay which allows you to generate a unique address for every transaction. Others most likely know more than I do and especially how to implement this stuff. Hope this helps!

    1. Interesting. Okay, I’ll look into Bit Pay.

  2. I don’t know how to do Crypto currency at all. Is there a way to send a check or money order? I’m an American.

    1. Aw thanks. Just got this now. Currently there won’t be any way to send a cheque or money order. That might change in the future.

Getting money is not a huge priority for me right now, but again, that will change in the future.
