OTTAWA, Ont. – The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) continues its push for a trucking-focused immigration program to help offset a shortage of truck drivers.
Just so everybody knows, there’s no shortage of truckers, and there is most certainly is no shortage of young men who could easily be trained to be a trucker. This is a process that takes a few weeks. Let’s see who this CTA president is.
Speaking yesterday before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology, CTA president Stephen Laskowski included the call among requests to crack down on truck drivers misclassified as independent contractors, modernize cross-border processing systems, and use future carbon tax revenue to promote the purchase of green vehicle technology.

Okay Stephen. Let’s see if we can find out any more information on this fella.

So we have a Liberal party donor who wants to crack down on truck drivers who are “misclassified,” as independent contractors. And he also wants to destroy truckers wages by flooding the industry with cheap foreign labour. To top it off, he’s also a big time pharma shill, as you can see from the True North article that I linked.
I’m getting this weird hunch that this guy doesn’t have the interests of average, everyday truckers in mind.
I found the above graphic, and many more like it, on CTA’s website here. Needless to say, I wouldn’t be boasting about the governments and WMD Liars respecting my organization, but they are. It is also unclear how exactly they get funding.
Looks like just another example of some astroturfed “advocacy” group that exists solely to attempt to lend credence to the privileged class.
