Brandon Boulware, the father of a transgender child, delivered an emotional plea before the Missouri State Assembly to strike down a bill that would restrict the ability of transgender teenagers to participate in school sports.
That man is abusing his child. Any parent that pretends that their child is the “wrong gender,” is performing a sort of child abuse.
Weeks later, a clip of the March 3 testimony went viral on social media, sparking empathetic responses across the world. One Canadian “sex-based rights” advocacy group, however, took to Facebook to condemn Boulware.
“This is a perfect example of a father who was embarrassed that his male child was effeminate.”
I’m pretty sure the C in CAWSBAR stands for Chad.
The organization behind the publication, CAWSBAR, is one of Canada’s largest trans-exclusionary “radical feminist” (TERF) groups – an ideology that co-opts the rhetoric of feminism to further marginalize and attack the transgender community.
Remember Meghan Murphy? Anyway she used to have a twatter account, but now she’s just as censored as we are. Because once you start speaking truth to power, you will immediately be censored. TERFs are sort of a new alliance candidate for us.
Among one of the more egregious things they’ve shared on their social media pages is an article by Brendan O’Neill, accusing transgender activists of “weaponizing suicide” as a means of “getting their way.”
A survey held in 2015 by Trans Pulse (Ontario), a community-based research project looking into the health of transgender and non-binary Canadians showed “extremely high prevalences of suicide ideation and attempts within trans populations.”
There are two types of people that have quotes like that. Honest, if a bit QAnon-adjacent types, and complete and utter grifters like Christopher Rufio. It’s hard for me to know exactly what this guy is, although perhaps he deserves a closer inspection. Something tells me I’ll be disappointed in him.
Founded in 2019, CAWSBAR describes itself as a “cross-Canada, non-partisan coalition of women and male allies working together to protect the rights and protections of women.”
In a statement released in December 2019 to announce the foundation of the group, CAWSBAR states that its primary objective is to challenge Bill C-16, a law passed in 2017 which protects transgender and gender non-conforming Canadians from harassment and discrimination, by adding gender identity and expression to the list of protected groups under the Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code.
Don’t bother making any rational or cogent responses to this. The “rights,” that they got was to throw you in jail for calling them a man in a dress. That’s their “right to be free of harassment and discrimination.”
The law faced fierce opposition, in large part due to the falsehoods shared by certain groups and individuals who feared it would restrict free speech.
That is literally the entire point, but go on.
Opponents of Bill C-16, including CAWSBAR, popularized the conspiracy theory that the law would lead to Canadians being jailed for using the wrong pronouns when referring to transgender individuals.
That. Is. Literally. The. Point. You. Lying. Groomer.
They provide a link to an article that “proves,” that bill C-17 doesn’t restrict free speech despite that literally being the entire point. Just to show you how dishonest these groomers are, I’m going to reprint the entire article that they link to. You tell me if you find a single line here that debunks the “conspiracy theory,” that a bill that restricts free speech was designed to restrict free speech.
Xtra Magazine: (And yes, their source is Xtra Magazine. LOL).
After a years-long fight, trans rights are finally set to be enshrined in Canadian law.
Bill C-16, which would protect gender identity and gender expression in the Canadian Human Rights Code and include it in hate crime provisions, has passed both houses of Parliament and will soon be signed into law.
Despite opposition from some Conservative senators, the bill was passed on June 15, 2017, by the Senate 67-11.
During the Harper government, a trans-rights bill passed the House of Commons only to die in the Senate.
Once Bill C-16 becomes law, trans people will have protections in all jurisdictions in Canada. On June 13, 2017, Yukon became the last territorial or provincial government to pass a trans-rights bill.
The debate on Bill C-16 in the Senate was often fierce and divisive and has become a flashpoint amongst some Conservatives who claim the new protections would impinge free speech.
Despite numerous attempts, the bill was passed in the Senate without any amendments. It is expected to receive royal assent later this month.
Editor’s note, June 15, 2017: An earlier version of this story incorrectly said that Bill C-16 was introduced in the House of Commons by NDP MP Randall Garrison. It was actually introduced by Minister of Justice Jody Wilson-Raybould.
I even included the editors note, just so I couldn’t be accused of leaving anything out. That entire article is just recapping the history of the legislation. It doesn’t even make comment on the legislation itself.
Keep this kind of behaviour in mind anytime you see these groomers doing a “sources say,” type argument. They’re just maliciously trying to waste your time.
After years of predominantly online activism, it appears CAWSBAR is attempting to move towards real-life mobilization. Its website features several calls for action, including the distribution of pre-prepared flyers.
In recent weeks, these flyers were found in Ottawa’s downtown core, while an unnamed individual paid for an ad featuring the group’s talking points and logo in the Wellington Times, a local paper distributed in Prince Edward County.
The paper’s managing editor has since then apologized.
There is another tedious form of propaganda where these groomers are so afraid of exposing the NPC reading the content to the truth that they refuse to link to them. In fact, this one, Sebastian Roback, refuses to even tell us what CAWSBAR even is. I looked it up, and it’s the following.
Okay, well that doesn’t look so bad to me.
I don’t know what I was expecting.
One can always dream.
In any case, the group appears to be fairly dead. The last update comes from last summer, and it doesn’t appear that they’re going anywhere. I feel bad for them, and I support them, at least somewhat, but they ran into the brick wall that is our fake democracy. As anyone who has ever done activism will tell you, the entire legal system is set up to be as opaque as possible by design.
The police and crown conspire to charge or not charge whomever with whatever they want.
But anyway, I clicked on that post of theirs from August of last year.
We are appalled that the Canadian Anti-Hate Network (CAHN) has recently accused Canadian Women’s Sex-Based Rights of hatred and attacked our women’s organization with pejorative terms.
In December 2020, the Department of Canadian Heritage awarded CAHN a contribution valued at over a quarter million dollars. The contribution is to be used to increase the CAHN’s capacity to identify, monitor, and publicly report on the activities of groups, their members and their supporters that CAHN deems to be hateful. CAHN has committed to publishing 30 “explanatory pieces” by March 2022.
Yes, you read that correctly. The Department of Canadian Heritage gives your taxdollars to an anti-White hate group run by a jew nationalist hardcore Israel supporter.
It is not difficult to understand how the propaganda produced by CAHN influences public opinion and affects parliamentarians who seek to be perceived as virtuous and inclusive above all else, in spite of whether such propaganda is representative of the truth.
The truth is we are a grassroots, non-partisan network of women and male allies from across Canada who are deeply concerned about the reframing of the word “woman” in law and public policy.
While our public education efforts to promote women’s rights have been met with an outpouring of positive responses, and our network grows steadily each month, it is unconscionable that we’re now being labelled by CAHN as a “hate group” and “anti-trans.”
It should be noted that recent CAHN articles targeting caWsbar never provide a rationale as to why our position is supposedly “hateful.” They never mention it is women they are ruthlessly targeting and attacking with unfounded slurs of “bigotry” for refusing to be redefined. Indeed, they never state what we’ve actually written or said.
Like I said, everyone who gets censored and is attacked by the Canadian Anti-Hate Group is a candidate for allyship. Having said that, this doesn’t appear to have gone anywhere, unfortunately.
Will no one think of the Westerchildren?
