We start our story in July of 2021.
The FBI wants to keep $86 million in cash and millions more in jewelry and other valuables seized in a raid on a Beverly Hills, California, safe deposit box business, even though a judge specifically said the contents of the boxes weren’t up for grabs.
Prosecutors claim it’s fair to make the renters of the 369 safe deposit boxes forfeit their valuables, because they were engaged in criminal activity, the Los Angeles Times reported. But there’s no evidence to support the allegation.
The box holders and their lawyers say the FBI is trampling on the rights of people who were unaware the business, U.S. Private Vaults, was charged in a sealed indictment with conspiring to sell drugs and launder money.
The warrant that US Magistrate Steve Kim signed on March 17 giving permission for the FBI to raid the business even said, “This warrant does not authorize a criminal search or seizure of the contents of the safety deposit boxes.”
Quick, someone get Abolish the FBI agent on the scene. Someone needs to shut up these lowly peasants who think that the FBI isn’t entitled to straight up thieve their property because the people who own the secure deposit corporation were involved in crime.
Anyway, the people sued back in 2021, which leads us to a few days ago when we got an update.
The FBI and US Attorney’s Office misled a judge who issued a warrant for a controversial raid on a Beverly Hills safety deposit company that uncovered $86 million in cash and millions more other assets, according to a new report.
A senior FBI agent recently testified that central to the plan, and not disclosed to the judge, was the permanent confiscation of the contents of every box that contained at least $5,000 in cash or goods, the Los Angeles Times reported.
“The government did not know what was in those boxes, who owned them, or what, if anything, those people had done,” Robert Frommer, a lawyer who represents nearly 400 box holders in the class-action case, wrote in court papers, according to the Times.
It really is amazing how brazen and corrupt the FBI truly is. The argument they are using is that, since the corporation, US Private Vaults, has been involved in some criminal activity, anyone who puts more than $5,000 worth of goods in one of their security boxes is entitled to having the FBI rob them of their goods.
Now, stop for a minute, and think about that. The equivalent to this would be if you bought a condo from a complex that was owned by the mafia. Then the FBI comes in and just steals your condo from you, with the justification that, since the holding company was mafia run, you’re not entitled to keeping your property. I’ts theirs now.
In applying for the warrant to raid the business, FBI agent Lynne Zellhart accused safe-deposit box holders of criminal behavior. Zellhart said that it would be “irrational” for anyone who wasn’t a lawbreaker to entrust U.S. Private Vaults with their assets and wrote that “only those who wish to hide their wealth from the DEA, IRS, or creditors would” rent a box anonymously at U.S. Private Vaults.
Yeah, no shit. Of course people would like to hide their assets from the federal government. In no way does this make them guilty of criminal behaviour. People close the door when they use the bathroom. That in no way makes them guilty of criminal behaviour. People install VPN’s on their computer in the hopes that the government can’t spy on them. That in no way makes them guilty of criminal behaviour.
But just as the constant never-ending bloviation about how Iran is secretly a terrorist state does not change the fact that the two biggest terrorist states in the world are the US of A and Israel, the endless bloviations about HuWhyte Supreemacist Terrorism and assertations that anyone who owns a private security box must be a criminal do not change the fact that the biggest criminal organization in the United States of America is the Federal Bureau of Investigation. And even I, as jaded as it gets, am slightly surprised at just how thuggish, evil, and arrogant these clowns are.
When they’re not beating up their wives for refusing to have sex with other men they’re sending SWAT teams against anti-abortion activists or blatantly stealing civilians assets by essentially doing semi-legal bank robberies.
